We are seeking a EA Solution Architect
Duties and Responsibilities:
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Apply concepts of application architecture and service orientation to assist
customer teams responsible for developing HA application requirements in
specific functional areas.
• Coordinate work to prevent overlap and ensure alignment with WMATA
Enterprise Architecture Framework, IT strategy, SDLC, strategic drivers,
Solution Architect Level 3
and standards.
• Prepare as-is and to-be application architecture artifacts including system
connect diagrams, application reference models, software requirements
documents, interface descriptions, data dictionaries, performance
monitoring and logging specifications, high availability and scaling designs,
DR concepts and designs, and application staging plans.
• Work with data and infrastructure architects and software program
managers to ensure integrity, high availability, and scalability of application
systems and plans within the context of the overall Enterprise Architecture;
and
• Guide the work of business systems/business case analysts and
documentation specialists.
• Develop current and future state application architectures, including but not
limited to business transformation, identifying potential risks and
opportunities, capturing the rationale for architecture design decisions,
negotiating conflicting requirements, improving architectural documentation
quality, and facilitating clear articulation architectural artifacts (Business,
Information, Application, Infrastructure, Integration, Security etc.)
recommendations to ensure value driven sustainable Architectural
perspectives
• Apply industry standard architectural frameworks to the WMATA enterprise
to guide and update the architectural baselines within the enterprise
• Follow industry standards and best practices to enable effective review
process for a multitude of technology paradigm within transit industry
• Participate in the strategic discussions and associated architecture building
blocks review processes
• Analyze and review business capability architecture and translate it into an
effective information architecture, features, functionalities, etc.
• Translate user behavior into structured elements, attributes, process
workflows, user scenarios, storyboards etc. for Enterprise information
systems – PeopleSoft, Maximo, Kronos, Hyperion, Hastus, Trapeze, etc.
• Ensure business, functional, technical and information processes are
reviewed and validated to meet the enterprise expectations
• Coordinate and align with business, technology, visual, structural, editorial,
cognitive and enterprise strategies
• Understand the different contexts and provide meaningful inferences with
respect to architecture reviews.
• Determine inconsistencies in business capabilities, results and escalate
unusual problems.
• Apply concepts of application architecture and service orientation to assist
customer teams responsible for developing application requirements in
specific functional areas.

Qualifications:
- At least 15 Years of Experience in design and development of solution
architecture, Implementing Peoplesoft ERP Systems with extensive knowledge in
building integrations and conversions out of which at least 10 Years in Transit
Industry.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Communications,
Finance, or in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional solution architecture experience and familiarity with
architecture patterns and design with emphasis on performance tuning,
logging, and monitoring
• Strong analytical, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Experience in review and validation of the ERP data models,
customization analysis, Batch schedule Monitoring and System
improvement recommendations with prototyping.
• Extensive knowledge in system architecture and prototyping/development
experience in commitment budget controls (both capital and operating),
Grants management, procurement controls, project costing, asset
Management, and general ledger.
• Proven ability to plan and deploy custom, COTS and middleware
application programs and process improvements.
• Experience managing teams of programmers for the deployment of large,
complex applications.
• Extensive experience in providing software solutions using full Software
Development Life Cycle phases.
• 10 Years of Implementing and Maintaining PeopleSoft FSCM/HCM
applications for a transit agency.
• 10 Years of extensive knowledge in Peoplesoft Development Tools
• Extensive understanding of the Data Structures about Peoplesoft ERP
applications like FSCM/HCM
• Experience performing the application architecture function, from
conception to deployment, for a large government multi-agency solution.
• Experience in reviewing and validating system performance, batch
processing capabilities assessment, data conversion mapping and data
dictionary management.
• Extensive knowledge in data masking capabilities assessment, ERP
reporting within PeopleSoft and Oracle applications, third-party integration
efforts with document management, service-oriented architecture-based
data integration and transformation, enterprise workflow management and
data cleansing support at enterprise level
• Experience in business process improvements across ERP and connected
systems such as Maximo, Enterprise Performance Management, and
document management systems.
• Experience in creating methods for compliance architecture, such as data
storage, metadata management and change control.
• Extensive knowledge in integrations and data transformation utilizing
Oracle and PeopleSoft technologies.
• Extensive experience in reviewing, analyzing, assessing the PeopleSoft
and Oracle ERP applications integrations and data transformation with
Transit customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Providing support for enterprise resource planning
application architecture and systems processing guidance in PeopleSoft
and Oracle technologies.
• Group facilitation experience
• Experience developing Data Architecture perspectives.
• Experience interviewing and documenting stakeholder inputs to enterprise
architecture projects.
• Experience using MS Visio or other data or application visualization
software to document Solution architecture.
• Ability to mentor, collaborate and coordinate with peers, customers, and
stakeholders.
• Experience integrating legacy applications or data sources across legacy
mainframe and various platforms.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing HA and scaling
solutions in a complex, multi-application architecture
