What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrument Man position at System One?
Instrument Man -
Responsibilities:
- Reports to Party Chief
- Transport/setup of field equipment
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds frequently
- Required to exert physical effort in navigating difficult terrain frequently
- Responsible for operating conventional surveying equipment and for the efficient and effective collection of survey data to be utilized in the preparation of plans and reports
- Operating conventional surveying equipment including but not limited to Total Stations, Levels, Data Collectors, etc
- Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the survey equipment, the equipment room, and all survey vehicles
- Use of tools to include machetes, shovels, hammers, sledge etc
- Mark points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1 years of field work
- Ability to work 10 hour days in all weather conditions
- Complete background check and drug test
- Ability to learn to use surveying instruments, equipment, practices and procedures
