What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Naval Architect position at System One?
Responsibilities:
- New vessel concept design and analysis
- Existing vessel upgrades and analysis
- Hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards
- Specification preparation
- Develop and validate design and engineering requirements
- Coordinate with management, engineering, and business development
- Hull form development
- Resistance and powering estimates
- Seakeeping analysis
- At-sea testing and trials
- Weight and stability analysis
- Damaged stability analysis
- Structural design
- Create and develop SolidWorks 3D models and associated 2D drawings for existing and new products.
- CAD support for existing and new products
Required Experience and Skills:
- Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative
- Able to work in teams or individually
- Interest in developing new technology
- Must have good technical writing and professional communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Sheet metal and Aluminum boatbuilding or marine experience a plus.
- CFD experience a plus.
- Available to travel, with a current passport or able to obtain one
- Able to obtain a security clearance
Required experience:
- Bachelor???s degree in Naval Architecture, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence.
Must pass a drug and alcohol test. Excellent wages and conditions on offer to suitable candidates
