What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Designer position at System One?
Seeking a Lead Designer within our PA Transportation Business Unit to work out of our Cranberry Township, Canonsburg or Homestead Borough offices. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their technical skills and related work experience to maintain computer-aided design (CAD) filing structures and develop detailed, high-quality construction plans.
Responsibilities Include:
- Knowledgeable in MicroStation with familiarity of roadway design software such as InRoads and OpenRoads Designer desired.
- Interacts with engineers and clients to develop CAD models and engineering drawings to support projects within the Transportation Business Unit and other teams as required.
- Responsible for the creation of 3D CAD software models and detailed drawings.
- Assists engineers with hands-on troubleshooting efforts and field investigations (occasional travel to project sites required up to 10%).
- Develops layouts, engineering drawings, drawing details, and assembles drawings as required.
- Performs maintenance of CAD files in response to engineering changes.
- Interfaces with other engineers to verify that data pertaining to project specifications is documented accurately.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
Experience:
- 10 Years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledgeable in MicroStation.
- Familiarity with roadway design software such as InRoads and OpenRoads Designer preferred.
- Familiarity with Bentley ProjectWise collaboration software preferred.
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- State DOT experience is a plus.
