Overview:
A national networking company is seeking a OSP Tech III for the South-central Region to join our team. Qualified candidates must have strong background in operations with a minimum of 5 years working in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the oversight of all splicing personnel and activities associated with a project.
- Responsible for the scheduling and submission of splice MOPs into ticketing system for non-service affecting and service affecting maintenances.
- Must possess the ability to interpret plans, drawings, diagrams and be able to correctly identify and record OSP as-built fiber routes.
- Must be able to maintain accurate records and input data into software programs used for information storage and retrieval.
- Must possess prior knowledge of OSP and ISP network design and infrastructure principles.
- Monitor, communicate and perform corrective actions to fix problems affecting any fiber or fiber related equipment.
- Must have experience using and/or calibrating the following equipment: fusion splicer, mechanical splicer, OTDR, power meters, traffic identifiers, digital multi- meters, cleavers, strippers, buffer tube splitters, cable ring tools, hand tools, toners, duct rodder, ladders, bucket trucks, etc.
- Provide any other customary duties related to a OSP Tech III role as required.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must be experienced in modern Fiber Splicing Techniques for the Telecommunications Industry, FOC or FiberOptic.com Certification a plus
- 5 years of Fiber optic field splicing experience and testing equipment
- Valid/Clean Driver’s license required
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalentDetailed oriented as well as able to multitask.
- Good communications skills both spoken and written.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet all objectives.
