What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Management position at systems ally?
This role will be responsible for overseeing a team of corporate Material Managers within the S&OP function. You will support continuity of supply of direct packaging materials into production facilities, develop and maintain long range replenishment strategies, optimizes the balance between supply availability and risk of obsolescence, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee availability of materials through delivery of supplier forecasts, supplier collaboration, and establishment of effective communications and monitoring of key touch points.
- Develop and implement optimal inventory replenishment strategies with Procurement, Suppliers, and Plants which align with BU manufacturing strategy, desired service levels, and BU risk profile.
- Develop and lead inventory reduction initiatives entailing optimization of SAP MRP parameters, total supply chain process improvement, and application of Lean principles.
- Provide input to Procurement on projected volumes, business changes, supplier performance, and contractual needs so that Procurement can maintain contracts that serve the BUs and minimize total cost.
- Manage major supply disruptions driven by extraordinary events (flood, supplier bankruptcy, supplier Equipment failure, major quality issues, etc).
- Understand supplier capacity constraints and define appropriate contingency plans in place to maintain supply when capacity is exceeded.
- Maintain key data impacting job function such as contract balances, material discontinuation.
- Oversee commercialization timelines and assess risk related to value engineering, new product development, and rebranding initiatives.
- Continuously improve job processes and provide continuous improvement suggestions for the larger Materials Management Function.

Minimum qualifications
- Proven leadership experience and a Bachelor Degree in related fields (Supply Chain Management, Operations, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or related subject area)
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills and working under timelines; multi-tasking abilities; exception-based management in a fast paced environment
- Industry knowledge in the Food and Beverage space
- Comfortable leading cross function meeting
- Self-Starter and not afraid to ask questions
- Complete special projects and assignments as requested
- Ability to drive strategic goals
Preferred qualifications
- APICS affiliation and/or certification
- SAP or other ERP/APS software experience
- Effective interpersonal and verbal/oral skill
- Self-starter with independent work ethic and react quickly to priorities.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
