Overview
Axient's Systems Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking a Technical Program Manager/Systems Engineer to support our U.S. Surface Navy (e.g. Aegis Baseline), Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), and Office of Naval Intelligence customers. The Technical Program Manager will lead day-to-day execution of program/project initiatives and tasks – working with Business Operations to manage the budget and schedule, as well as with the customer, and the Growth team to satisfy the technical objectives while meeting all of the contractual requirements. A candidate with a history of technical and programmatic experience is desired to support these customers out of our Columbia, MD location.
Description
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Leading and directing a matrix organization to meet program cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives
Measuring and reporting program performance
Creation, review, and finalization of the program/project Statement of Work
Development and adherence to budget baselines cost & schedule control methodologies and tools
Development and adherence to master plans and schedules
Grow our business through customer success: In addition to the operational and programmatic relationships, you will be responsible for driving top line growth. This requires establishing committed and trust-based partnerships with our customers to not only help them solve their immediate problems, but also to foresee future opportunities where SEG’s expertise can make them more effective
Supports requirements development and adjudication within each assigned baseline including attendance at requirements meetings
Shepherds threat data requests and threat data deliveries through the development/production process
Participates in developing and executing on a customer focused vision to provide improved capabilities to the assigned baselines
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Active US DoD security clearance with current investigation
Bachelor’s of Science (BS) Degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience
Demonstrated systems engineering and program/project management experience
Strong background in DoD acquisition programs
Strong analytical skills
Communication, documentation and briefing via Microsoft office products (Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Word)
Limited amount of travel is required. Most frequent destination is Dahlgren, VA. Less frequent destinations include Huntsville, AL, Moorestown, NJ, and Boston, MA. Need for travel to other destinations may arise.
Demonstrated capability of leading a diverse technical team in the development of engineering products including data and modeling and simulation products as government furnished information.
Understanding aerospace engineering applications in the design and development of U.S. and foreign missile systems including aerodynamics, propulsion system design, navigation, guidance and control, sensors and seekers
Understanding the development and testing workflows associated with the development of software for the creation of advanced models and simulations of radar and combat systems
Desired Qualifications
Current TS/SCI clearance level, and ability to obtain an SAP/SAR clearance
Masters degree preferred with relevant research project experience
Self-starter – Demonstrate independent ownership of tasking. Position affords opportunity to define path and lead tasks based on technical understanding of engineering community and appreciation of customer needs
Naval Defense Weapon System Performance (e.g. Navy Surface systems, Ballistic Missile Defense systems, Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems)
Knowledge of aerospace /defense systems technology domains
Experience and technical knowledge of the Aegis Weapon System its elements and how the system functionally operates through the plan, detect, control, and engage stages of Aegis engagement
Experience working with MDA, NAVSEA/NAVAIR and Navy Wafare Centers as a Government Civilian or Active Duty leader
DAWIA Level III Program Management, PMP, or equivalent experience
DAWIA Level III Systems Engineering or equivalent
Strategic Planner and team formation and execution
