SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Network Administrator for a one-year contract assignment with potential to go full-time. This position is on-site for our client in Charlotte, N.C. In this role, the Network Administrator is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) network specifically focusing on ensuring the network's reliability, security, and efficiency. The network is specific to interaction with physical items such as pumps and sensors in wastewater facilities.

Required Qualifications of the Network Administrator:
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) convergence
- Information security principles
- Cisco Router management
- Networking fundamentals
- Networking components such as routers, cell modems, switches, and servers
- Principles and practices of the design, installation, and maintenance of data and communications networks and applications
- Performing basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios
Responsibilities of the Network Administrator:
- Plays a critical role in ensuring that the ICS network operates smoothly, securely, and efficiently, supporting the overall mission of delivering reliable water services.
- They are involved in both the technical and strategic aspects of network management, from day-to-day troubleshooting to long-term planning and collaboration.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills of the Network Administrator:
- Intermediate to expert with 802.1q VLANs and routing tables
- Experience building, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks
- Hands on experience in layer 3 protocols
- Cisco WAN connectivity such as Metro Ethernet
- Preference is experience in Cisco networks coupled with ICS
- High School Diploma & 7 years of experience OR Associate degree & 5 years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 3 years of experience OR any equivalent combination of education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
