Our Construction Management team is looking for an Office Engineer to work on surface transportation projects. This position will be on-site and involves inspecting construction procedures and verifying that work completed by contractors is in accordance with contract documents for roadway and bridge projects. This position also involves setting up and maintaining project documents and files.
Responsibilities
- Abide by and enforce construction safety rules and regulations.
- Read and understand contract documents, including plans and specifications.
- Assist in the documentation of pay quantities and development of the Final Estimate.
- Assure general compliance with standards and specifications.
- Assure documentation, and accuracy of monthly progress payments.
- Draft Contract Change Orders.
- Accurately track change order payments.
- Log and track material inspection, certification, and acceptance for the project.
- Prepare monthly pay quantities and development of the Final Estimate.
- Establish project filing system in accordance with Caltrans requirements.
- Log and manage project submittals, RFI’s and correspondence.
- Create meeting agendas and minutes; distribute and file.
- Review and file project daily reports.
- Prepare construction closeout documents.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Engineer in Training Certification.
- At least 4 years of experience in the inspection of bridge and roadway construction projects.
