Using advanced technologies, our team of field technicians, engineers, and surveyors, provide quality data and professional insight to help our clients visualize, plan, and design their projects.  Our mission is to provide project stakeholders with quality information, professional insight and deliverables that streamline construction, improve project safety and set the standard for the engineering industry. 

SUE Technician II responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Be skilled in the operation of SUE utility locating and designating equipment, including pipe and cable locators, ground penetrating radar (GPS), and non-destructive vacuum excavation equipment.
• Complete detailed accurate daily reports, forms and field sketches, both electronically as well as drafting by hand.
• Use of tools and equipment to conduct utility investigations, including jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, concrete coring machine, compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance and hand tools.
• Drive commercial motor vehicles, however a CDL license is not required.
• Perform safety set-up and maintenance of traffic control operations under direct supervision of senior field staff.
• Assist with survey and data collection tasks, supporting overall crew activities.
• Perform daily routine maintenance of equipment.
• Perform daily basic vehicle maintenance.

 Tech II Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED.
• 4 years of experience working in SUE or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
• Must be able to pass a DOT medical screening and obtain a DOT medical card. 
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment.
• Enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis in all types of weather.
• Able to walk several miles a day across varying terrain. 
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stays throughout Utah, Colorado, California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas.
• Experience overseeing others is a plus.
• Must have a good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
• OSHA Safety certifications are a plus.
