What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant (ATL) position at T5 Data Centers?
The Accountant is responsible for various day‐to‐day financial tasks of a portfolio of managed data center facilities. They will work directly with the accounting and finance team, outside departments and assigned customers to ensure accounting responsibilities are performed timely and accurately as required.
\n- Create vendor purchase orders in accordance with agreed upon terms
- Enter and code vendor invoices in an accurate and timely manner
- Respond to all vendor and customer inquiries, reconcile statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Record daily cash transactions
- Perform bank reconciliations to reconcile cash transactions to bank statements monthly
- Perform bookkeeping functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and job costing
- Proactively track, manage, and follow up on all receivables to ensure timely collection of amounts owed
- Interface with vendors, customers, executives, facility management team, and internal finance team to address and resolve any inquiries or issue
- Reconcile job cost accounting records for each customer purchase order or contract
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for financial transactions
- Assist in preparing timely and accurate monthly billings to customers in accordance with contract requirements
- Review and upload Concur employee expense reports
- Assist in setup of new vendors through Vendor Café or with Yardi and obtain appropriate documents such as W-9 and COIs
- Assist in preparation of detailed monthly variance reporting and commentary
- Assist in new vendor setups and obtain appropriate documents such as W-9 and COIs
- Compile documentation for audit sampling to external auditors
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and files to ensure compliance with IRS rules
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field, required
- 1-5 years’ experience in a similar role, required
- Real Estate or Property Management accounting experience, preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines while working independently
- Exceptional organizational, quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to approach problems both logically and creatively
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Windows
- Handle confidential information in a sensitive and professional manner
