What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host To Go Specialist position at TA Management Group?
We are looking for an energetic ToGo Specialist for our busy overnight shift at our West Wichita location.
Hours will typically be 8pm-4am Thursday - Saturday and depend on the volume of business. Depending on the success of adding this position, we may expand our hours as appropriate for business and the team.
ToGo Specialists must have great attention to detail and thorough Menu knowledge. We have one chance to get guest orders correct with off-premise dining. We want to ensure our guests get exactly what they requested. Additionally, IHOP standards must be adhered to for consistency, expectations, and accuracy.
When our Specialists are not busy with carry out orders, they also greet and seat guests and expo dine-in order meals. Other tasks may be required, but the main focus is on ToGo orders.
The hourly rate starts at $10 and will be evaluated as skill and knowledge increases and our ability to provide off-premise dining grows.
Our franchise offers health, ion, and/or dental insurance to employees who average 30 or more hours per week after a short eligibility period.
Weekends and holidays are required for all staff. We are more than willing to work with schedules for other jobs or school but expect agreed upon schedules to be followed.
SUMMARY
Greet and seat guests promptly, cheerfully and courteously. Take guest remittance as required and make every effort to ensure the quality of the guest’s dining experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain professional functional working relationships with IHOP Team Members
and guests.
• Greet guests as they enter the restaurant (within 30 seconds) and seat them as soon as a table
is available.
• Rotate station seating to ensure the quality of guest service.
• May handle guest complaints, inquire about the quality of the dining experience, thank guests
and invite them to return.
• Handle cash in an accurate and responsible manner.
• Take register readings, make interim cash reports, count cash register receipts and make
frequent cash drops according to Company cash-control policies.
• Answer the telephone, take messages, and take and complete all To Go orders.
• Maintain guest checks in numerical order.
• Maintain a waiting list as necessary.
• Check restrooms every 30 minutes to ensure proper stock levels and cleanliness.
• Clear, clean and reset tables and clean chairs, booths and floors after guests leave.
• Perform cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts.
• Comply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards per IHOP SOP guidelines.
• Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager, Assistant Manager or
acting supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Prior experience or training is desired, but may not be required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write guest
checks and simple correspondence. Ability to read and speak English well enough to understand
guest checks, instructions, warning and safety labels, and communicate with others.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in
standardized situations
