What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Associate position at Tabbris?

COMMUNITY ASSOCIATE

At Tabbris Innovation Center, our goal is to help founders scale their startups by providing a coworking community that fosters innovation, collaboration, and creates an impact on the Charlotte entrepreneurial community.

The companies headquartered at Tabbris come from different fields and backgrounds, but are unified under one theme - they disrupt the business that they are a part of. From lead generation teams to software development and beyond, the companies at Tabbris were looking for a space that was different from other coworking offerings in Charlotte and encouraged growth and conversation.

The Community Associate plays a vital role in day-to-day operations at Tabbris. Located at the front desk reception area, the Community Associate is the face of Tabbris and works directly with the Community Manager and Executive Director to create an atmosphere that encourages innovation.

About You:

  • Manage day-to-day operations, including opening and closing routines, facility upkeep, and schedule maintenance wherever necessary
  • Onboard new members via email correspondence
  • Order supplies and maintain inventory for both internal and member usage
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with members of the Tabbris community and encourage membership growth and opportunities
  • Act as point of contact for correspondence including but not limited to: Tabbris members, event guests, FSR, the entrepreneurial community, and community partners and/or sponsors
  • Plan community events and initiatives, based on member interest and monthly themes
  • Resolve community issues and be proactive about problems in the space before they arise
  • Event Management Experience a huge plus but not required
  • Positive, enthusiastic and able to adapt to multiple situations
  • Excited about entrepreneurship
  • Ability to celebrate the small-wins

A Typical Day at Tabbris

You start the day with an informal chat with the team over a cup of coffee, to go over house-keeping issues and to prepare for the day.

You have a conference room rental coming in for their three day meeting. You welcome them, take them to their meeting room and show them how to set up WiFi and presentation equipment.

A company is moving in tomorrow. You go through the move-in procedure including, setting up parking, welcome email, slack information, printer information and mailing address.

A member lets you know the printer isn’t working, you troubleshoot the issue and you cannot figure it out, that's okay, you know the correct person to reach out to get this solved.

At lunchtime, a man comes in for an impromptu tour, you offer him coffee/water and show him around the space while accurately going through all memberships, any specials at the time and benefits of being a Tabbris member.

You receive an email on one of our event platforms that someone is interested in renting the space for a birthday party. You respond to the renter on the correct platform and set up a tour for them.

Later in the day you go over billing to ensure all members are current. Sending emails to those who have late payments, need invoices or any other billing issues.

It’s the first warm day after the winter so you decided to head out a little early to catch some sun. Before you go home you walk the space to ensure it is ready for members to use tomorrow, cleaning up cafe areas, conference rooms, common spaces and catching up with members in the space, talking about all things from the networking event on Tuesday to the new Pixar movie coming out on Friday.
