Lead the facilities function in a geographic region, encompassing 5 – 9 direct report facilities technicians, operations partners, vendor and cost control management. Source, select, coach and develop maintenance technicians and monitor repair and maintenance activities across the region. Manage multiple cost centers and continually examine maintenance technician productivity to improve financial controls and efficiencies. Maintain close, positive relationships with operations partners in each market. Source, select and onboard new vendor partners as the business needs demand.
The Day-to-Day:
Supervise coach and develop maintenance technicians
As needs surface, source and select high performing technician candidates with excellent customer, facility and technology skills that can work autonomously
Develop and maintain a customer centric (RGM#1) approach to restaurant maintenance
Build know-how and continually expand the maintenance team capabilities
Gain efficiencies by operating with a continuous improvement mindset
Manage financial controls of multiple maintenance cost centers across the region
Monitor and control parts inventory, procurement tracking, asset database, invoicing and reporting
Support challenging repair projects, national projects and capital investments
Partner with the region finance team in evaluating R&M spending trends and implementing solutions that continue to drive value
Daily utilization of Officetrax (work order reporting system) to ensure technician productivity, vendor management / quality repairs, technician schedules
Conduct field visits within region to inspect facility conditions, quality of repairs, technician productivity / proficiency and to spend time with customers gathering feedback.
Monthly Area Coach calls with operations for each market, communicating successes and opportunities and gathering feedback from customers
Monthly 1:1 calls with each maintenance technician, pre-work gathering data from Officetrax and customer base, to provide positive feedback and coaching for growth, development and improvement for each maintenance technician
Work with cross-functional business partners, operations customers and regulatory agencies to resolve emerging business needs
Is This You?
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 years related experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 10 - 12 years proven work experience in this field
Relevant experience in the QSR or Retail industry
Demonstrated supervisory experience in facilities management, trade technician management or retail/commercial building maintenance
Strong customer service, communication, project management and organizational skillsets
Working knowledge of building components, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems including knowledge of various codes and ADA requirements
Ability to lead and motivate multiple direct reports across a broad geographic span in a fast-paced multi-unit environment
Strong ability to build and positively maintain professional business relationships with internal and external customers
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate across multiple levels within a region
Strong proficiency with computers and being technology capable is mandatory
Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency and willing to "do what it takes" to get the job done
Ability to travel, ~60 overnight stays per year
