Position Summary
Lead a high performance team of contract administrators to be the main point of contact for customers in the aerospace industry, including major defense contractors, airframers and system integrators. Primary point of contact for bid and proposal activities, requests for quotation, production schedule updates, requested expedites, and contractual negotiations. Liaison between customers, internal departments and outside suppliers and service providers to ensure delivery and contractual requirements are fully met. Develops and maintains key contacts within customer organizations while developing a working knowledge of current company markets, products and policies. Role is on the succession planning path to Business Unit Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a high performance team of contract administrators, responsible for all Tactair customer interaction.
- Complete administration of the customer fulfillment cycle from RFQ/order receipt through delivery and payment.
- Prepare and send customer quotations by determining market pricing and stating terms based on company standards.
- Primary point of contact for Business Unit Manager, assisting with forecasting bookings, sales, and pricing activities.
- Negotiate lead times, delivery schedules, and pricing within authorized limits.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments to resolve issues that may cause delivery delays.
- Administer annual contract pricing adjustments as required.
- Assist in proposal and multi-year proposal development.
- Travel to support customer and program requirements as required.
- Coordinate customer visits and facilitate customer audits.
- Review customer scorecards.
- Interface with customers and customer portals as frequently as needed to review orders, shipments, min/max, forecasts, and respond to customer requests.
- Monitor the progress of product returns under the Return Material Authorization (RMA) program.
- Support finance in resolving aged receivables, credit memo’s and short payments.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field and 5 years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to analyze situations and summarize options.
- Attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Able to analyze and interpret costing information and the intricate details of contracts, purchase orders, etc.
- Knowledge of export controls is a plus.
