PAY RANGE: $60,000 - $110,000 Annually
Position Summary
Primary point of contact between Young & Franklin Tactair and its outside processing facilities. Collaborate across all functions, but especially with operational planning, warehouse/inventory control, and other operational teams. Identify potential outside processors and candidate parts for outsourcing with collaboration from Manufacturing Engineering teams. Monitor OSP performance and ensure contractual obligations are met and company objectives are met.
Responsibilities
- Use EPICOR to plan and issue purchase orders for materials to be processed by external manufacturing firms.
- Analyze material requirements, obtain quotes, negotiate price and terms, and place purchase orders to meet all engineering specifications, delivery goals, and targets for price, quality, and inventory.
- Own the process to identify, select, and validate/approve new OSP sources
- Develop supply base strategy, monitoring performance and risk for present and future business needs.
- Execute strategy to continually improve OSP performance on cost, quality, and timeliness.
- Visit OSP on an as-required basis to provide assistance and leadership in problem identification and resolution.
- Lead internal and supplier teams to resolve complex, business-critical issues by leveraging technical, manufacturing, and supply base expertise.
- Proactively coordinate the supply chain to support new programs.
- Communicate supplier issues that could impact the business plan and recommend contingency plans to mitigate risk.
- Understand customer and part specifications applicable to the sourcing of parts through outside process manufacturers.
- Keep internal fabrication production planning and assembly planners informed of any risks to on-time supply.
- Prioritize and expedite orders through OSP as necessary.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline that emphasizes analytics such as engineering, mathematics, logistics, supply chain, business, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing business processes for procurement and material planning, including the development of new suppliers and managing supplier improvement plans.
- Proven experience in negotiation and business relationship management.
- Strong understanding of financials, technical and manufacturing know-how, and data analysis skills.
- Strong ERP system skills.
- Experience in vertically integrated manufacturing planning and procuring machined components, valves, assemblies and electronics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
