1) Duties: - Operate handheld Link-16 equipment. - Operate tactical JTAC radios. - Operate JTAC targeting equipment. - Assist government personnel in scheduling Government range reservations, planning training events and developing training schedules. - Coordinate CAS training trips for all NSWC units, maximizing the number of NSW personnel to attend any given CAS training event. - Plan training events that prioritize based on deployment rotation schedules and training certification expirations, ensuring that each and every trip maximizes aircraft and sorties used by NSW personnel. 2) Required and Recommended Qualifications / Education:
- Graduate from the USAF Weapons School, USN TOPGUN, MAWTS-1, or equivalent training. - Pilot/Weapons Systems Officer (WSO) experience with no less than 500 hours performing CAS missions and task with the last five (5) years in a tactical aircraft, to include attack helicopters, United States Air Force (USAF), United States Marine Corps (USMC), or United States Navy (USN).
- Pilot/WSO/Sensor Operator SME in 3-09.3 Joint Tactics Techniques and Procedures for Close Air Support and the J-Fire Multi-Service Tactics, Techniques and Procedures for the Joint Application of Firepower. - Experience with post-9/11 combat CAS operations or FAC-A qualified. - Familiar with CAS operations and TTPs applicable to Major Combat Operations and the Strategic Competition context, to include equipment required for tactical communications in denied environments. - Prior programmatic experience managing or tracking JTAC qualifications, or SOF inspection experience. - Prior experience with AJACTS records management.
