We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Project Engineer to join a leading Company and must travel states between the North VA, DC, and Southern, MD surrounding area.
Responsible for technical support and work direction to technicians for assigned properties. Ensure that security requirements established by and/or tenants are met and maintained. May be responsible for managing staff. Maintain positive communication and exceptional follow-up with building tenants, vendors, contractors, and internal contacts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead special construction/fit out projects as requested by management.
- Provide work direction to technical staff or contractors responsible for completing special requests and projects.
- Provide work direction to technicians and subcontractors providing maintenance or repair services to ensure that work is completed as directed and within quality parameters.
- Ensure job safety standards are maintained at all times in compliance with company and government regulations.
- Interpret contracts and interface with contractors to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Maintain contract files with all required documentation to support an audit.
- Work with Property Managers and Chief Building Technicians to develop and maintain a rolling Capital Expenditure plan spanning five years.
- Work with CBTs to develop and maintain life cycle plan for equipment, in compliance with company standards.
- Able to identify mission critical equipment and create, develop, and maintain plan to ensure functionality.
- Oversee recommissioning of BAS systems and the BAS training platform.
- Able to understand and provide direction and insight on controls systems throughout region.
- Control expenditures for services and supplies for daily operation within established budget guidelines.
- Purchase equipment and supplies, as necessary.
- Provide operating and capital expenditure recommendations to the property management team.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork for billing purposes.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent with additional vocational coursework in one or more of the following disciplines: HVAC, electricity, plumbing or other relevant areas.
- Minimum of fifteen years relevant work experience working as a senior service technician or project engineer with at least five to ten years of experience providing work direction to others.
- Universal CFC certified.
- State Certified Journeyman's license or equivalent.
- A certified Master's license or equivalent is preferred.
- PC proficiency to include (to include but not limited to) Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and ability to learn company-specific software.
- Ability to adapt to new or changing software programs.
- Ability to routinely perform on-call and off-hour duty, including evenings, weekends, and holidays and to respond to emergency situations on a 24-hour on-call basis or to complete special projects.
- Customer interface; must be capable of briefing and explaining highly technical issues to a varied audience.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, mechanical and electrical) including how to troubleshoot, maintain and control.
- Working knowledge of energy management systems.
- Must be able to read trade-related electrical, mechanical, and plumbing drawings and internal wiring schematics.
