What are the responsibilities and job description for the B level Diesel Technician position at TAG Truck Center?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Diagnoses cause of problems/malfunctions of vehicles and makes needed repairs as outlined on repair order.
· Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts and makes sure parts received are listed on repair order.
· Examines vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required; informs service foreman/manager if additional work is needed or if outlined work isn’t needed.
· Performs warranty parts replacement and prepares documentation of work performed.
· Ensures that parts are on proper repair order
· Road-tests vehicles when required.
· Maintains company vehicles; maintains tools, cleans shop area continually as jobs are completed, empties trash barrels and keeps customer’s vehicles clean.
· Follows all safety rules to avoid injuries to self and others; reports conditions which are unsafe to help resolve safety problems.
· Completes and turns-in slips on a timely basis.
· Attends factory-sponsored training classes and keeps abreast of factory technical bulletins and product update changes.
· Follows environmental guidelines in disposal of hazardous waste and follows all federal, state and local laws/regulations to maintain a safe workplace and to comply with all applicable laws/regulations.
· Additional Responsibilities
· Occasionally communicates directly with customers to answer questions and resolve vehicle related problems.
· Understands and follows all federal, state and local regulations related to disposal of hazardous wastes.
· Performs other duties as assigned to meet customer needs and maintain company goals and objectives; may oversee the work of an apprentice technician as assigned.

Experience:
- Diesel engine repair: 5 years (Preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)
