Description
The Operations Manager plans, organizes staffs, directs, and controls all office and warehouse activities for a multishift operation. The Operations Manager has direct customer accountability and is responsible for maintaining and building the customer relationship. Selection, training, and motivation of the workforce are key responsibilities. The Operations Manager is accountable for achieving company objectives regarding cost, productivity, customer service, and profit.
Requirements
The successful candidate:
- Has at least 5 years' experience within distribution center, preference for experience leading a multishift organization with P&L responsibility.
- Successfully communicates with co-workers and customers both in writing and verbally.
- Proven success in establishing and meeting labor control, quality systems, performance metrics to meet company and customer objectives.
- Works in compliance with federal, state and local statues, OSHA requirements etc.
- Prior experience established and maintaining effective collaborative relationships with customers and clients.
- Has prior success building, leading and directing a team to meet business metrics.
- Experience and willingness to operate forklift and Hi-reach trucks.
- CDL license preferred
- Is able to be the strategic leader as well as step in and be hands-on when needed.
- Can train team members in safe equipment operation and maintenance
