We have an immediate need for a Construction Manager to oversee various CapEx projects at one of the largest food & beverage manufacturers in the state.

The Construction Manager would be expected to manage the day-to-day coordination onsite with plant personnel and contracting entity and work closely with the corporate project team located in Baltimore on scheduling and upholding GMP and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Project team through execution of all project engineering activities as directed by the Project Manager:
- Supervise contractors in the execution of project construction activities, to include weekend and holiday shutdowns as needed.
- Develop weekly and monthly construction schedule.
Coordinate with refining operations, maintenance and others for tie-in availability and execution. - Provide on-site coordination, executing project schedule, reviewing jobsite multiple times daily.
- Track project schedule and execution. Ensure contractors execute project construction in accordance with drawings, standards and statements of work. Variations or requested variations should be reported to client Project Manager.
- Plan and direct the development, execution, and completion of project construction activities including coordination with refinery operations and maintenance teams.
- Interface with client Project Manager, Engineer of Record & contractor onsite during construction.
- Requisition project materials and labor through SAP, once approved by client Project Manager.
- Lead the initiative of tracking contractor training status.
- Track contractor’s onsite personnel badge expiration.
- Coordinate training updates with safety, environmental and security supervisors with badge expiration and renew as needed.
- Assist in commissioning new OEM equipment, or mechanical tie-ins onsite with process and packaging team. Trouble shoot project related problems, such as tie-in disruption, diagnose and recommend corrective actions with appropriate stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all standards and requirements for safety, food safety and quality, and environmental compliance as they pertain to the project team.
- Verify and administer hot work permits to contractors onsite.
- Verify and administer confined space entry permits to contractors onsite.
- Perform hot work, food safety & quality and environmental audits along the jobsite daily.
- Verify environmental procedures are followed and maintained per client, Baltimore City & MDE guidelines.
- Identify key project stakeholders and understand project’s impact to business.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction management.
- 5 years’ experience in construction management in a heavy industrial environment
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with environmental projects/EPA guidelines is a plus

Salary : $86,400 - $109,000
