This role allows for cross functional collaboration at a growing company that emphasizes work life balance.Position Summary:The Sr. Manager, Contracts is responsible for supporting the Director, Contracts in the management of contracts to be executed by and between Taiho Oncology, Inc. (TOI) and its suppliers. The primary responsibility of this position is to independently coordinate the internal contract review processes, negotiate with external parties, facilitate legal review, ensure signatures so that contracts and Work Orders are in place on time and maintain long-term working relationships between TOI and our suppliers.Performance Objectives:
Independently manages contract process (Master Service Agreement, Service Agreement, Work Orders, Change Orders, Change Notification Process) with external suppliers, coordinating the processes and negotiations internally and externally.
Escalate problematic suppliers and contractual terms to the Director, Contracts.
Communicates with all vendors to ensure contracts are delivered on time.
Negotiates contract terms, pricing and payment schedule, ensuring that the agreements with the suppliers are advantageous for TOI.
Assesses the quotations submitted, coordinates review with department heads, returns collated comments to vendors and ensures that all comments are incorporated by vendor in next draft.
Ensures all changes requested by team are incorporated in next drafts and coordinates internal meetings to review contracts.
Coordinates legal review with TOI legal representative case by case.
Negotiates and manages the Consulting Agreement process based on internal policies.
Ensures signature of all contracts and that fully executed work orders are received.
Collaborates with Clinical Finance Manager to ensure that all executed Work Orders and Change Orders are incorporated into the financial forecast.
Obtains all confidentiality agreements.
Perform other duties as required.
Education/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
At least ten (10) years’ experience negotiating agreements in the pharmaceutical industry. A law degree will count towards 3 years of experience..
Experienced in negotiating contracts with CROs or at a CRO.
Ability to develop solutions to unusual and complex contracting issues.
Basic understanding of the clinical drug development process and ability to read study timelines.
Ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual instruments.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent negotiating skills.
Detail oriented, with emphasis on accuracy and completeness.
Ability to be a team player in a cross-functional business environment.
Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to take initiative.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Knowledge of PC software, including Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge of MS Project is a plus.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $138,550 - $163,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
