Sorter Supervisor

Position Summary: The OHC Sorter Supervisor will manage the daily operations of the department to include the accurate processing of all JAB and TMW GOH retail merchandise for our JAB and TMW retail stores and timely shipments to the stores.  Additional responsibilities include ensuring the OHC sorters operate efficiently, resolving merchandise and system issues that arise in a timely manner, being knowledgeable of the W&H sorter system and managing the flow of our wave processing to ensure timely shipments to our stores.  It will also be important that you display exceptional attention to detail as well as the adaptability to adjust to workloads in the OHC sorter environment as required. A successful candidate must be able to provide effective leadership of operational execution and planning to ensure the absolute best services to our stores.

Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the DC 2 OHC Sorter Supervisor will consist of but are not limited to the following:

• Providing leadership to a team of  DC employees during the  day to day OHC Sorter activities in the distribution center, as you ensure the daily workload is completed in a timely and efficient manner
• Work closely with management and team members to ensure merchandise is processed and products are handled in compliance with business requirements, on schedule, and within budget
• Provide servant  leadership on the warehouse floor to train, inspire, and motivate the work of hourly warehouse team members in order to achieve desired results in productivity, teamwork, safety, quality, and job knowledge
• Communicate with management team regarding OHC sorter related issues or product discrepancies
• Track information to facilitate the flow of merchandise 
• Participate in management training exercises and attend daily department meetings
• Suggest and recommend improvements that would further increase departmental performance
• Ensure warehouse material handling equipment and tools are operating properly and safely so that employees are able to perform their job functions without interruption
• Advise management of any breakdowns and maintenance needs immediately to ensure good routine preventive maintenance on all equipment
• Effective time management, conflict management, and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain and understand the W&H sorter, WMOS systems and MOS Processes utilized in the daily operation

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required, additional education is a plus
• Prior working experience in a distribution and logistics’ environment
• Basic knowledge of computer skills in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn proprietary programs
• Good communication and people skills are required with excellent command of the English language
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, encourage, and lead team members
• Must have strong commitment to quality and ability to provide outstanding customer service
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to follow directions and apply problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Good mathematical and counting skills required
• Highly motivated and high initiative in providing proactive efforts in seeking solutions to problems and willingness to take on new tasks, challenges, and opportunities
• Good organizational, analytical, multitasking, and follow-up skills
• Must maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times with the highest level of customer service

Physical Requirements:

• Continuously standing, walking, sitting, reaching and working overhead, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, and crawling
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
• Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds or more
