The Role
- Hire, train, and develop talent for all roles
- Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of team members, ensuring headcount requirements are met
- Develop your team’s skill set and knowledge of aerial and underground construction
- Utilize strategic thinking to execute on goals, provide support to all phases of assigned projects, drive teams to meet deadlines and ensure quality results
- Give direction to your teams and crews, delegating and assigning tasks to team as required
- Partner with department leadership to maintain and enforce company productivity, payroll and overtime guidelines.
- Participate in performance management functions, disciplinary actions, performance reviews and ongoing development of team
- Be your team’s “expert” and “go to” resource; spending time in the field to understand, improve and build your team
- Review, update and maintain team data
- Locates, measures, and marks site locations and placement of structures and equipment, using measuring and marking equipment as needed
- Keep safety as your #1 priority for each of your team members: adhering to company safety standards and all federal, state and local laws
- Provide a high level of customer service when interfacing with customers
- Build and maintain positive relationships with utilities, clients, permitting agencies and government officials as needed
- Handle customer and contractor problems related to projects
- Work in a variety of environments; indoors, outdoors, elevated, tight spaces etc.
- Maintain open communications with other departments
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3 years of relevant aerial and/or underground construction leadership experience required
- Prior experience with Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, Map Reading experience a plus
- Valid driver’s license, Class A CDL a plus
- Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
- Ability to be flexible and manage changing priorities
- Ability to travel in market and occasionally to other markets, open to a variety of schedules and accessible outside of normal business hours as needed
- Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in-person or virtually
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
- Ability to give feedback; positive and negative when needed
- Strong desire to grow and develop team members
- Ability to complete work indoors, outdoors, in tight spaces and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing as needed
- Ability to safely navigate various terrains, managing equipment and tools
- A body weight of no more than 275 pounds to perform ladder work safely. **Safety is our #1 Priority. If personal safety is not compromised, an accommodation may be available based on previous ladder experience in a similar role.**
