A Talascend client in the Mobile, AL area has an immediate need for a Project Controls Manager.
Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will lead the Data Analysis for various large Capital Projects (in excess of $200MM). This will include reviewing Risk, Earned Value Analysis, Change Order and the overall Budget and Cash Flow forecasts.
- Owner of the Project Communication Plan as it relates to Project Reporting. This will typically be monthly PowerPoint presentations to C-Level Management. In addition, this will include funding requests during the project lifecycle.
- Work with Procurement, Contracts and Construction teams to ensure an accurate Earned Value or progress tracking system is in place (by contract award)
- Gathering data for these reports and organizing the complex information for ease of communications
- Mining all project data and reporting out on Budget, Cash Flow and Schedules and variances
- Review schedules for variances; perform cost-benefit analysis for various mitigation strategies
- Interface with all Project Team members, EPCM members and OEMs to ensure accurate and complete understanding of all project documents, standards and contracts
- Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Business, Analytics or Technical discipline, or a combination of education and experience
- 7 years demonstrated experience supporting large Capital Projects in a Project Controls, Business Analyst or Project Management role
- Extensive knowledge of the Project Budgets, Cash Flow Forecasts, Earned Value Methods, Progress Reporting and Cost vs Benefit analysis. Deep understanding of Project Scheduling methods and Project Risk valuation methods.
- Experience leading a Hybrid team of Project Controls Staff and Contractors. Including Schedulers, Business Analysts, Accounts Payable/Earned Value reporting and Contract Administration
- Excellent communication skills, including reporting on Business Metrics to C-Level executives as part of the Project Reporting Process.
- Expert level knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Suite Products. Experience with Primavera P6, Oracle or SAP.
- Experience with working on large Capital Projects, specifically in the Metals or Heavy Industrial space.
- Experience developing and administering the Project Budget and Change Order processes; and ensuring budgets and cash flow updates are timely and accurate
- Ability to work with and/or lead people to achieve positive results; Ability to fill in for Project Manager at various meetings
