Production Compounder

Talascend is currently seeking a Production Compounder for a contract to direct hire position in Commerce, CA.

OVERVIEW :

To compound batches / package product which meet quality and consistency standards in cost effective, safe, and timely manner.

This role will float between compounding and packaging on a first shift schedule, 5 : 00AM-1 : 30PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Compound formulas accurately by weight and by ingredients and ensure that the best methodology is utilized based upon the product or mix.
• Possess and apply working knowledge of all raw materials before use, i.e. : mixing / heating to ensure quality and consistency in batches.
• Utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials used.
• Possess and apply working knowledge of all pumps, mixers, scales, fork trucks, high density storage units, meters, and computers.
• Follow all quality assurance instructions on formulas using proper compounding techniques to ensure quality samples.
• Responsible for filling all batch containers at the proper weights and in proper containers. Marking all containers with the necessary SSC labels and shipping labels.
• Ensure that all CMS process is executed correctly, and all filling instructions are followed for each order.
• Print shipping labels, fill out the label form and give it to QC department to ensure that all information in the label is correct.
• Count all labels printed to make sure we have all labels needed for the order.
• Follow 5S and Good Manufacturing procedures to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws.
• Maintain inventory information on filling materials and report to supervisor any shortages.
• Responsible for sanitization of production equipment including pumps, pots, kettles, tanks, blenders, and mixers.
• Proper handling of Allergen products and Equipment.
• Make one observation in Intelex once a month.
• Other duties assigned by supervisor / manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months experience in a warehouse or food manufacturing environment. (Required)
• Must have experience operating forklifts.
• Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds and move up to 400 pounds with equipment.
• Must be able to operate pumps, mixers, filters, lift trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Prior SAP experience.
