Overview:
This position will report into the Head of Policy and Risk Reporting in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). The ERM team is composed of Actuaries, CFA’s, and risk professionals and is tasked with, among other things:
Identifying and Assessing Risks
Developing and testing of the Company’s Risk Appetite
Establishing Risk tolerances, and Limits
Risk monitoring; and internal and external risk reporting
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the preparation of enterprise risk reports for Talcott Resolution’s Board of Directors, senior leadership team, risk committees, regulators, and rating agencies. Reporting can cover a variety of areas including but not limited to current and stressed exposures, limit exceptions, and derivatives and general account portfolio compliance report
Drive effective communication to accurately represent Talcott Resolution’s risk profile to the first line and senior management
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of Talcott’s risk appetite and stress testing framework
Develop and implement risk management policies and strategies in compliance with applicable regulations and strategic objectives
Design and maintain risk reporting tools and metrics for the assessment and ongoing monitoring of risks
Drive global efforts to automate and streamline Risk reporting processes working across ERM and IT organizations
Liaise with Investment Management, Finance and Actuarial teams to assess impact of new strategies and potential deals on Talcott Resolution’s risk profile
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher; FSA or CFA designation preferred
5 years’ experience in a risk, compliance, or credit related job discipline, including but not limited to financial risk, credit risk, enterprise risk, and/or compliance management
Financial industry, banking, or insurance experience preferred
Proven quantitative and analytical skills
Strong technical skills and experience with spreadsheet and database applications, including the ability to automate tasks using Python, and VBA/SQL is highly desirable.
Ability to perform ad hoc analysis under binding time constraints, the desire to take pride in and ownership of work products and presentation, intellectual curiosity, excellent communication skills, and the willingness to “do what it takes” to meet critical objectives
Quick learner and able to drive continuous improvement beyond own scope of responsibility; able to constructively challenge status quo
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, work independently and work well under aggressive deadlines while delivering superior outcomes
Project management skills; ability to drive tasks effectively to completion
Ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with individuals of all levels from other departments
Compensation:
The annualized base pay range is mainly based on an evaluation of comparable positions in the external market. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott’s total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$90,000 - $100,000
