DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES : Duties include but are not limited to :
1. Performs all the direct duties of the Utility Worker-FS or Handyman Power Production.
2. Assists employees of higher classification in the disassembly, reassembly, overhaul, repair, testing, adjusting, replacing and cleaning of all types of electrical equipment found in a generating station.
3. Works alone or assists employees of higher classification performing non-skilled work, such as : changing lights and globes, replacing air conditioning filters, cleaning or scraping parts and cutting gaskets over simple patterns.
4. Performs general clean-up work including asbestos insulation, steam cleaning, parts cleaning, and vacuuming (excluding hydro lasers).
Recharges fire extinguishers.
5. Performs removal of various types of non-asbestos insulation and penetration seal materials under the direction of higher classification personnel.
6. Drives CDL vehicles (excluding condors) and operates auxiliary mounted equipment (except bucket truck), operates manlifts (up to a height of 75 feet), trenchers, skid loaders, and material handling equipment such as forklifts.
7. Performs burning and cutting operations not adjacent to pressure points.
8. Under the direction of a Competent Person erects self-supporting scaffolds of any height. Performs work from self-supporting structures of any height including full boiler scaffolding.
Performs work from hanging scaffolds, spiders, or similar support devices up to a height of 75 feet.
9. Supplies and transfers tools and equipment by handling ropes, tying knots, and doing simple rigging and hoisting.
10. Performs minor repairs such as painting, concrete repair, etc. on vaults and manhole steel, pad-mounted transformers, streetlight standards, OCR’s, switches, circuit breakers, bushings and relay & controls.
11. While performing the aforementioned tasks, assists personnel of higher classifications working on energized equipment.
12. Assists with railroad repairs and maintenance on fleet trains and tracks, repairing and replacing switches, cad-welding grounds and maintaining crossing flashing equipment.
13. As directed, receives, identifies, inspects, marks, delivers and stores material, tools and equipment.
14. Performs paperwork associated with job duties.
15. Performs such other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
