CNC Operator Job Description:
Responsible for producing machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Essential Duties AND Responsibilities
• Proficient in machine operation
• Loads raw materials and unloads completed parts
• Required to operate multiple machines simultaneously
• Performs inspection of own parts and co-worker's work
• Follow instructions when selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures
• Uses measurement tools i.e., snap gage, digital calipers, micrometers, optical comparator and other measuring instruments
• Adjusts tooling & work offsets
• Minor editing of current program
• Able to run select machines in department
• Able to make adjustments to assure dimensions, tolerances and quality of parts and utilizes databases as needed
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment including top-off lubricants
• Cleaning responsibilities include equipment, chip removal, and work area
• Follows established procedures as well as quality and safety standards
• Maintains safe work environment
• Works under supervision
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
• Good working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, basic math and measuring instruments
• Basic understanding of G&M programming codes
• Good understanding of machining practices
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Motivated and shows willingness to learn
• Team player who works in cooperation with others
• Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude.
Education and/or Experience
• HS Degree or GED
• 1 years machining experience preferred or a recent certificate in precision machining or related field
• Experience operation CNC machines strongly preferred
Physical Demands
• Maximum lifting/carrying of 50 lbs
WORK Environment
Machine Shop environment which may require the use of industrial hearing protection and/or other personal protective equipment
Pay: $20 and up base on experience
Schedule:
8 hour shift - Monday to Friday
