We are searching for a semiconductor FAB Gas / Chemical Design Engineer; this is for one of our clients in Richardson, TX.
Position Description:
In this role you will be directly responsible for design and installation of chemical and gas systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fabs. This FAB operates a variety of process and support chemical and gas systems. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Candidate will be responsible for the engineering analysis, design, and installation oversight of distribution systems for chemicals and gases within the context of an operating manufacturing facility
• Manage a large amount of equipment installations with multiple contractors under strict deadlines
• Projects scopes will range from the installation of a single VMB to the design and installation of a bulk-fed factory-wide distribution system
• Organize and plan design activities, create construction documents or manage external design teams
• Manage project and equipment installations, including project resources, schedules, and budgets
• Team with other engineering disciplines, management, internal customers & suppliers to ensure projects & systems are cost effective, within budget, meet the desired design criteria and schedule guidelines
• Create and communicate project documentation including sequence of operations, installation procedures, and checklists for commissioning and start-up
• Write scope of work, bid request for proposals, and specify and order material
• Complete projects safely and reliably with no disruption to customer operations
• Ensure projects and systems are compliant with applicable codes, cost effective, and meet the desired design criteria while adhering to budget and schedule guidelines
• Successfully communicate with multiple organizations and maintain customer focus
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 3 years of experience
• Experience with gases and chemicals used in the semiconductor industry
• Understand chem/gas equipment and associated facilities (VMB’s, gas cabinets, life safety gas monitors, electrical, mechanical tubing, etc.)
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Commitment to a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment
• Experience with industrial facilities
• Experience with installation, construction, and management of capital projects
• Experience with lab analysis equipment and procedures
• Experience designing, maintaining, or installation of distribution piping, valve manifold boxes, gas cabinets, chemical supply pumping systems for hazardous and high purity chemicals and gases
