In this position, you will support the Base Training Education Services at Whiteman, AFB. At no time will work be performed on the Air Force NIPR system. Any experience shall be demonstrated via resume and a list of past performance to include verifiable professional references.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Provide hardware and software system administration on all classroom and testing personal computers, servers, fax machines, satellite receivers, switches, routers, printers, and other peripherals critical to proper function of Whiteman AFB BTES technology systems.
- Create and maintain Whiteman AFB BTES Web page and social media outlets being used.
- Update links, build pages, link appropriate documents and databases, manage layout and meet any other requirements specified by the BTES team leader to ensure quality of Web Page and that it integrates with the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) BTES website.
- Implement any new systems (software/hardware) as required by regulations. Set up new computers and other information systems in a timely manner to support gradual improvement of the BTES facility.
- Provide all networking architecture recommendations and networking support to improve BTES network as required. Provide suggestions to Education Service Officer and Flight Chief before implemented.
- Establish procedures for safeguarding all critical testing data. Design back‐up methodology to guarantee uninterrupted Base Education Office service to customers.
- Develop and maintain tracking system in Excel to monitor all information systems (including all required documentation). Maintain diagram of facility with associated database to track fixes and implementation of information systems.
- Provide for safe migration of important data from one system to another. Install and maintain Education Center primary database. Conduct upgrades to database and provide user training to BTES personnel.
- Provide recommendations to director of facility for future planning and improvements to existing information systems structure. Assist director in research and purchase of all information systems and components required to improve existing structure.
- Provide for proper information security on all systems. Educate personnel on proper security procedures to protect sensitive data and records.
- Train office personnel on software required for them to efficiently execute their jobs.
- Perform any other critical system support as required for successful operation of the BTES technology.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in both hardware and software application support being utilized by the Base Training Education Services (BTES); Qualnet systems.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Verbal communication skills are essential.
- Knowledge of/experience with Air Force computer/network security regulations is mandatory.
- Active DOD security clearance “Secret” level or above.
