Position Title:
Estimator
Summary:
The position will engage across all functions of the company and have exposure through the entire sales process. The ideal candidate is interested in business development, has superior analytical skills, is organized, and is a proficient writer who prides themselves on effective communication. Candidates who take initiative, have a tremendous work ethic, and have a high level of integrity are considered ideal.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Compute cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, labor, and other related activities.
• Recommend improved materials, design, or machinery to customers and management, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production
• Create proposals/quotations.
• Responsible for identifying potential cost savings and/or cost problems that may occur on various projects
• Attend, contribute to, and/or leads meetings with team members, sales, vendors, customers, and management as needed.
• Use a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Project Manager, and the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
• Works to consistently meet and exceed customer and management requirements.
• Continuously strives for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• Strong academic credentials: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-directed, self-motivated, hard-working, strong initiative
• Ability to be adaptable in a fast-paced, working environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
