Job Title: Field Pipefitter
Location: Lansing, MI
Pay Rate: $20/hour - $30/hour
Job Description:
• Install HVAC piping systems, including chilled water, hot water, steam, and gas lines, according to specifications and blueprints.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, ensuring proper alignment and connection.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC piping systems, identifying and troubleshooting issues to ensure efficient operation.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of HVAC piping systems and materials required for field projects.
• Measure and cut pipe to required lengths, threading and bending pipe as necessary using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Utilize welding, soldering, and brazing techniques to join pipes and ensure leak-free connections.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety and industry standards.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment on job sites.
• Work collaboratively with other team members, including HVAC technicians, project managers, and contractors, to ensure project timelines and goals are met.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pipefitter in the HVAC industry.
• Proficiency in installing, assembling, and maintaining HVAC piping systems.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping layouts, and building codes.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and pipefitting machinery.
• Skilled in welding, soldering, and brazing techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various field conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
