Title: MIG Welder
Pay: $20-$22/hour
Shift: 2nd Shift
Location: Waterford, MI
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Preform welding activities with minimum instructions and supervision • Ability to judge the type and gauge of steel to be welded, making proper heat adjustments as required. • Subject completed welding tasks to appropriate inspections. • Utilize material handling equipment in conjunction with welding tasks. • Maintain required production records for jigs, fixtures and machines. • Perform minor maintenance on equipment. • Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment. • Observe and practice safety procedures and policies. • Other duties as required. • Welds components in flat vertical or overhead positions. • Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits. • Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc and flux-cored arc, plasma arc and shielded metal arc, resistance welding and submerged arc welding. • Other duties as assigned. • Welding all types of steels and alloys • Heavy plate welding 1/4” to 12” thick personal hand tools required
