Athletic Trainer - Granite City, IL
Shift:
· Practice days - 10:00 am-6:00 pm
· Game days - 12:00 pm-8:00 pm
Medical Specialty:

License/Certification:
· Certified Athletic Trainer
· CPR Certification (Preferred)
Responsibilities:
· Be responsible for prevention, emergency care, first aid, evaluation, and rehabilitation of injuries to athletes under his/her care.
· Serve as liaison between the team physician, the athlete, the athlete's parents, the coaching staff, and the administrative team.
· Consultant to coaching staff on conditioning, nutrition, and protective equipment.
· Assist with prevention of injuries including education for athletes and identifying factors that put athletes "at risk", correcting deficiencies in athletes as deemed necessary, as well as taping and bracing.
· Provide emergency care and first aid including availability of necessary equipment, communication procedures for emergency situations, and prompt, accurate triage.
· Secure training room equipment and supplies as needed.
· Monitor heat for outdoor events using WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature)
· Comply with IHSA Body Fat Assessor certification.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting, and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, climbing stairs, squatting, kneeling, and moving equipment may be required.
