Job Title: Nursing Assistant
Duties:
- Experience: 1-2 years
- First-time traveler:
- 1 year-must have 1 completed assignment
- 2 year-need approval if no travel experience
- Patient Types:
- General Medical: (sepsis, pna, cellulitis, AKI, IVDA) ortho, urology, gynecological, general surgical, hospice
- mostly geriatric population
- Patient Ratios:
- Tech 1:7-10
- RN: 1:4-7
- Required Certifications:
- State cert
- Skills required
- Knowledgeable on various lift equipment, assisting with daily activities (feeding, bathing, ambulating, toileting, weighing), able to measure/document I/Os, assist with admissions/transfers, collection of specimens (stool, urine), able to use EMR
- Blood sugar checks, maintaining skin integrity (turning patients), putting patients on tele monitor
- Support on the Unit:
- Charge nurse: takes patient assignment (Day-2; Night-4-5)
- RT: 24/7
- Hospitalist: 24/7
- OT, PT, ST (M-F, days)
- Bedside/Central tele monitoring with a tele tech
- Charting System/Equipment:
- EPIC
- Floating:
- Any MS overflows
- ICU
- Sitter cases
- Lakeland medical center (12 miles from Burlington)
- Scheduling:
- Shift: Days: 0616-1845; Nights: 1815-0645
- Weekend rotation: Every other
- 6 -week schedule, receive prior 1-2 weeks
- No on call
- Holiday Expectation: every other
- Other notes:
- Scrub Color: Any, no denim, or cartoons
- Parking: Free
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Salary: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
