What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Product Strategy position at TalentBoost (Point32Health)?
Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Tufts Health Direct Product Strategy for the Public Plans division, the Manager will support the identification and implementation of strategic initiatives for the Tufts Health Direct product. “Direct” offers qualified health plan products serving individual and small group enrollees in the Massachusetts market.
The Manager will play an integral role in the assessment and implementation of strategic initiatives for the Tufts Health Direct product. To support these initiatives, the Manager gathers, interprets, and generates findings from qualitative and quantative sources to identify takeaways and build recommendations. Topics can include margin management, provider network development, administrative excellence, population health programs, federal and state policy changes, and membership growth initiatives.The Manager will be expected to support the creation of key deliverables for both internal and external audiences at all levels. This will require cross department collaboration, as well as an ability to synthesize information for a wide range of audiences. This is a highly visible role and strong interpersonal skills are a necessity. The Manager will be part of a team working in a fast-paced environment, requiring excellent time management and prioritization skills. A high degree of independence and good business judgement is expected.
Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing
Strategy Identification, Assessment and Interpretation (50%)
- Design and execute on issue identification and root cause analyses in collaboration with leadership.
- Drive research to evaluate opportunities employing cross-functional assessments to understand the financial and operational implications.
- Form business cases in support of strategic initiatives, including but not limited to, financial impact, member impact, and growth models.
- Design strategy documents and presentations to convey findings and next steps.
Product Infrastructure (25%)
- Support development of KPIs and development of a product dashboard to evaluate performance on a monthly basis.
- Support duties for the execution of product life cycle events, including annual rate filings, open enrollment, and member communications.
- Other adhoc tasks (management, analysis, communication) related to potential product implications of federal and state policy changes, vendor relationships, and product design.
Project Management (25%)
- Collaborate with enterprise functions to monitor product and policy changes, proactively identify and address issues, and maintain communication and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage internal timelines and effectively communicate necessary action steps, including those that require cross-functional collaborations.
- Serve as subject matter expert to business functions when questions arise regarding membership projections, competitive intelligence, financial trends, or product strategy.
- Support implementation of strategic initiatives through engagement, tracking and measuring initiatives.
Qualifications – what you need to perform the job
EDUCATION: (Minimum education & certifications required)
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree with healthcare or financial focus preferred.
EXPERIENCE: (Years of experience)
- 5 years or more of health plan, provider or consulting experience, preferred. Interest in developing a robust understanding of healthcare landscape required.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint required.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: (Include interpersonal skills)
- Must be a self-starter, be able to think creatively, take responsibility, be extremely resourceful, and have a high energy level.
- Must be able to deal with complexity and uncertainty.
- Ability to organize, analyze, and synthesize large sets of qualitative and quantitative information to influence strategic decisions.
- Detail oriented with critical degree of accuracy regarding documentation and analysis.
- Experience with applicable software and database programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Must be able to work collaboratively across a highly matrixed organization.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
