Point32Health is currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join the Provider Reimbursement Analytics team in the role of Senior Data Analyst.

Under the direction of the Manager of Provider Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst is responsible for providing analytic solutions that deliver insight on provider financial performance. This role will serve as a key resource to generate and analyze data, package results, and present impacts to internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include provider contract support across business lines, regulatory submissions, evaluation of reimbursement strategies, and certain ad-hoc requests. The Senior Data Analyst will work on several projects simultaneously and will serve as a consultant to deliver actionable results, identify areas of opportunity and success, and inform strategic decision making.

 

Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing

  • Design and generate analytics that focus on medical cost, reimbursement trends, and market position across business lines (Commercial, Medicare/SCO, Public Plans/QHP). Must demonstrate ability to translate complicated and technical solutions into concise and easily understood recommendations
  • Utilize in-depth understanding of reimbursement methodologies and trends in managed care finance to independently develop measures of financial performance  
  • Develop queries, reports, Excel tables and other tools to address ad hoc and routine business needs
  • Coordinate with other departments within Point32Health including but not limited to Contracting, Payment Policy, and Actuarial
  • Function in the role of analytic steward, providing support to other analysts within and outside of the Corporate Data and Analytics department
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Finance, Business, Economics, Analytics, social policy, or related field with 5-7 years of experience; Master’s degree preferred
  • Strategic thinker, with strong analytic and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency with SAS and SQL programming tools required; statistical analysis skills are not required so much as a general understanding of relational databases and large data structures; advanced Excel skills also required.
  • Previous experience in a managed care or healthcare provider setting and working with health insurance claims is recommended; knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies such as OPPS, RBRVS, DRG, CPT/HCPHCs codes, and value based contracting; knowledge of the relationship between payer and provider
  • Demonstrated success in gathering and interpreting varied types of data within a larger business context
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills to work with a diversity of individuals from numerous departments and different levels within the organization
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; approachable, problem-solving personality
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and effectively prioritize tasks; essential functions need to be performed on a consistent and regular basis, using good judgment.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
