Description
- The Assistant Purchaser assist with purchasing responsibilities throughout the project life cycle which includes ordering materials, supplies and equipment, and follow through with vendors on shipment and delivery.
- Assist in the preparation of procurement documents and agreements for the materials needed to execute the project deliverables.
- Assist in vendor bid evaluations of proposals and technical evaluations.
- Prepare purchase order documents and submit purchase order information into online purchasing application for final approval.
- Submit purchase orders to vendors/subcontractors, obtain and log order acknowledgment.
- Assist in expediting vendor submittals to support detailed design and delivery of equipment and materials to support construction activities.
- Assist in preparing procurement status reports and expediting reports.
- Assist in sourcing and qualifying potential suppliers to provide required goods of service.
- Assis in preparing procurement packages to engineering and project specifications.
- Verify supplier pricing, quantity, reliability and industry experience.
- Assist with compiling "Request for Proposal" (RFP) documents including documents, drawings and specifications.
- Research pricing information, compare prices and quotations.
- Compile and present cost comparison and analysis.
- Assist with Project Procurement Status Material Status Reports
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
- Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Law or Construction related field.
- Required or Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Required Previous internship and/or related consulting experience Preferred
- Oracle Financial R12 software experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
