Job Title: (Import/Export related Document Specialist I )
Job Location: Temecula, CA, Onsite Site
Job Duration: 12 months on contract basis initially (with high possibility of extension, depending on performance and business needs)
Job Requirements:
Shift timings: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half.
Job responsibilities:
· Entry level candidates perform tasks where large quantities of information, data or documents need to be maintained or manipulated in a structured database, filing system or associated reporting/holding format.
· Provides a variety of technical services to support customs and trade compliance at the site/division level, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations and trade laws and regulations, including 19CFR, 15CFR, FDA, USDA, and other US regulatory agency requirements.
· Supports department by applying basic understanding of regulations to address a variety of import/export compliance issues, including tariff classification, Customs valuation, FDA inquiries, and other regulatory requirements.
· Depending on the site/division, incumbents may specialize in import and/or export related activities.
· Will learn and apply basic skills of import/export regulations and requirements to support business needs.
· Will ensure each file has an HTSUS code and/or ECCN classifications and will address import and export compliance issues related to 19 CFR and 15 CFR.
· Prepare import/export related documentation, which may include commercial invoices, export declarations, bills of lading, etc.
· Ensure timely and accurate response to Broker Requests for Information and follow up to ensure resolution.
· Communicate with shipment owners informing them of their shipment’s status using the Track Trace and C2 systems.
· Maintain and update site Item Master Log; work with site/division regulatory to ensure accuracy and completeness of FDA product codes and affirmation of compliance codes.
· Conduct effective and timely transactional review/audit of all import/export records. Elevate issues requiring correction or further review to supervisor/manager.
· Reviews will include using various systems to confirm data. The expectation is to be able to effectively know which system houses which data and navigate efficiently.
· The import/export log is to be maintained daily and all entries in the logs are to be accurate and done immediately as a record is reviewed.
· As applicable work with brokers to resolve broker/freight invoice issues/discrepancies.
· Provide timely customer service to all incoming critical phone calls, miscellaneous phone calls, and emails.
· Personally maintain knowledge on the latest Customs, FDA, and other government agency import regulations.
Required Skills
· Min 2 years, 2-3 years’ experience in import/export operations, international business, or other related field.
· Experience in import/export operations, international business, or other related field is preferred, but not required.
· Sound problem solving abilities and close attention to detail required.
· Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills are critical for this position.
· Proficiency in database, Excel, SAP and other software programs.
