Job Description:
As Project Engineer III, you'll execute engineering on a variety of tactical maintenance projects such as compressor station work, interconnects, pipeline, hydrotests, geotechnical, replacements, facility modifications and others. Maintaining focus on safety and compliant designs and an emphasis on continuous improvement. Support the project managers by implementing and applying engineering techniques within our project life cycle process. The ability to collaborate and coordinate with others to provide technical solutions, identify, and resolve sophisticated problems and develop innovative approaches to address issues that have significant cost and schedule impact are keys to success!
Responsible for a diverse range of complex assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation, and judgment. Plans and conducts own work, exercising substantial latitude for unreviewed decisions. Demonstrates technical expertise in executing the engineering of capital pipeline projects. Applies specialized knowledge in the effective completion of projects. Prepares and delivers presentations, such as design reviews, and can lead meetings and discussions. Anticipates internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions in design work. Maintains a strong understanding of industry and operational safety and code (CFR 192) requirements. Works on a combination of engineering specialties covering more than one discipline. Collaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet engineering and project needs. Champions best practice safety standards. Monitors and controls costs and resources associated with projects.
Responsibilities/Expectations:
• Be a quick learner regarding projects processes and execute all efforts while following Williams' policies and procedures as well as various laws and codes required for each project.
• Develops engineering execution strategies to meet overall project objectives; works with internal partners on management of quality control and project timeline.
• Coordinates with project team and communicates project drivers; develops approaches to accommodate concerns.
• Ensure that technical aspects of the projects meet expectations, quality standards, and execution strategy; identifies and implements technical improvements.
• Addresses the technical content of purchase orders to ensure they contain accurate technical and commercial terms.
• Work with project team to ensure Requests For Information are promptly resolved.
• Develops commissioning plans, closes projects and ensures accurate documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Aconex preferred.
• Provides technical expertise and recommendations during project standards reviews.
• Accountable for small projects or programs with minimal risks and resource requirements. Interface with consultant engineering firms and internal stakeholders.
• Travel requirements up to 30% .
Education/Years of Experience:
• Required: bachelor's degree in engineering required. Prefer a minimum of six (6) years of progressive hands-on engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry. Must have four (4) years of experience in a similar tactical/capital project engineering role (in pre-FEED, FEED, detail engineering or EPC). PE certification preferred.

• Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills.
• Advanced knowledge of the engineering workflow and Project Life Cycle processes.
• Advanced knowledge of pipeline engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards.
• Intermediate knowledge of other engineering subject areas design guides and standards.
• Demonstrated ability in interpreting engineering deliverable content as assigned.
• Proficiency with construction & constructability practices & principles and technology trends.
• Strong understanding of processes and procedures for project controls and estimating.
• An understanding of Aconex for document controls preferred.
