Our client, an industrial supply distributor, successfully operating for over 70 years is seeking a President to join thier company.

The President of plays a crucial role in driving the company’s success, growth, and innovation by overseeing all aspects of operations, from financial management to strategic planning, employee morale and customer relations. The President demonstrates exceptional leadership skills, cultivating a safe work environment and fostering a culture of operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

POSITION OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the company, setting and achieving ambitious business goals and objectives. Promote a high-performance culture and provide guidance to the management team.
• Research industry trends, competition, and market dynamics to make informed business decisions.
• Network, maintain, and strengthen relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a reliable supply chain. Negotiate contracts and terms to optimize procurement processes.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology and innovation to improve operations and customer experience.
• Handles crises or unforeseen challenges effectively and make timely decisions to mitigate negative impacts.
• Regulatory Compliance- Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and standards.
• Assess and manage risks associated with the business, including market fluctuations and supply chain disruptions.
• Meet regularly with the senior leadership team to ensure the organization’s financial and operational needs are being met.
• Collaborates with the leadership team to forecast trends, develop new strategies, and implement new policies and procedures to enhance organizational effectiveness.

SCHEDULING AND TRAVEL:
• Work in-office at our Queens, NY headquarters on most business days.
• Periodic travel to visit other branches as needed. Also, occasional site visits to customer jobsites and offices.
• Must be willing and able to work 8 or more hours per day and be on call for employee/customer emergencies.
• Occasionally travel out of town for training, meetings, and industry functions.

ATTRIBUTES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to inspire and manage teams, set goals, and lead by example.
• Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and a track record of achieving or exceeding financial targets.
• A general understanding of supply chain management, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution.
• Excellent communication skills, effectively demonstrates the ability to communicate through multiple channels with employees, customers, and suppliers.
• 10 years of leadership experience in industrial distribution preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business management or relevant field required.
• Knowledge of the welding/industrial gas industry preferred.

The compensation for this position ranges from $275,000.00 - $300,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
