Youth Development Specialist

In his position, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding students toward their next steps, serving as a positive influence for youth and their families.

This is a Full-time position - 40 hours per week, Weekday shifts are from 3:00pm - 11:00pm; while weekends entail shifts from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Must be flexible in the schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Foster a safe environment for children and families, demonstrating skills, abilities, and knowledge conducive to their well-being.
• Execute job duties under regular supervision while actively seeking opportunities to expand expertise.
• Develop, monitor, and report on treatment objectives for children, collaborating within designated teams.
• Identify and address behavioral differences, participating in the creation and execution of service and behavior management plans.
• Build supportive relationships with youth and families, implementing necessary rules and routines with emotional competence and good judgment.
• Engage youth and families in trust-based relationships, preparing them for transitions and promoting independence and respect within the community.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of experience in the human service field, specifically working with youth.
• OR Associate's degree and 1.5 years of similar experience in the human service field.
• OR Bachelor’s degree and 1 years of experience. (Education verification required)
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with agency driving standards (DMV verification required).
• 1-2 years of solid work experience in a similar field or related fields working with youth (e.g., Residential treatment centers, OCFS Facilities, security guard experience welcome).
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Direct Hire Benefits:

• Competitive starting pay: $15.74 minimum rate per hour to $23.60 maximum rate per hour, based on education and experience.
