THE ROLE
The Battery Engineer will be involved in a wide range of tasks including and not limited to:
- Design, test, and implement algorithms for BMS logic to derive key quality indicators.
- Review software code with supplier, ensuring BMS requirements are met.
- Conducting data analysis to determine performance of the batteries.
- Develop simulation models of cells, and conduct inquiries into battery performance and other key qualities.
- Develop documentation on hardware design.
- Optimize battery performance by designing control strategies.
- Advise on the future of battery development.
- Battery System Development Cycle, from concepts to production designs.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for the product.
- Support development milestones and build events.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of Battery Management Systems algorthims and logic.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field.
- 5 years of engineering experience, preferably with batteries and/or automotive.
- Prior Automotive industry experience is required for this role.
- Experience with Automotive Battery Design is highly regarded.
- Experience with lithium-ion cell modeling, as well as with electrical system modeling is preferred.
- Understanding of, and experience with, electrochemical properties of lithium-ion cells.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
