TITLE: Manager of Accounting POSITION NO.: P03550 SECTION: Administrative Services/Business Office HIRING SALARY: $53,043.67 - $58,093.39 annually; all salary calculations to start at the minimum salary HOURS: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday CONTACT: Human Resources (850) 201-8510 or via email at hr@tcc.fl.edu MAJOR FUNCTION: The Manager of Accounting is housed within the Business Office and will report directly to the Director of Financial Services. This position is primarily responsible for supervising Business Office fiscal operations for maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, cash management, financial reports including annual statements, payroll, reconciliation, and accounts receivable. Primary duties will include, but are not limited to: Supervises Accounting staff including evaluation and planning workflow, deadlines, work objectives, time utilization and problem solving. Prepares tax filings as required by IRS. Performs daily receivable, banking and investment functions for the College and Charter School. Prepares complex financial reports and analyses for internal uses and external entities (e.g., state and federal reports), including completing and ensuring compliance with the Public Depository, Unclaimed Property and IPEDS reports for the College and Charter School. Works with the cashier’s office to ensure all revenues are timely identified and correctly receipted, including the monitoring and correction of any transactions recorded to the over/short account for the College and Charter School. Assists in testing, maintenance, and refinement of information systems software and office procedures. Other financial tasks and duties as assigned. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting and four years related accounting experience. Licensure as CPA will substitute for two years of experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices and procedures. Ability to manage, plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate an accounting area. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports. Knowledge of mainframe applications. spreadsheets, and work processing. Ability to work independently. Ability to make independent judgments. Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks which are complex in nature. Ability to evaluate and recommend changes in policies, rules, and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
