IT (Project Coordinator) Intern Overview:

Supports project managers and project teams by implementing standard project processes and documentation; note taking and project meeting coordination; preparing status reports and documenting requirements, timelines, feedback and follow-up tasks.  This is a temporary full-time position.

Interns work side by side with experienced professionals as contributing members of diverse work teams who bring vision and opportunity to the forefront. Tallgrass Interns partner with various departments in support of multiple biodiversity and sustainability projects on existing assets and operations, as well as the exploration and development of new avenues and opportunities of biodiversity and sustainability to ensure the Company operates safely, efficiently, and responsibly. The internship is intended to help an individual develop their work skills and knowledge while providing a link between their educational goals and career objectives.

 Essential duties and responsibilities:

Project Coordinator:

  • Assist in setting up and facilitating project meetings and workshops.
  • Document meeting notes and facilitate distribution of notes and other documentation.
  • Understand and assist in implementing standard project templates and documentation. Includes helping create and update project plans, functional and technical design documents, reviewing and preparing test plans and testing scripts, assigning and following up on tasks assigned to other team members. 
  • Assist Project manager or Project lead in maintaining project timelines, scope and budget. 
  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
  • Make sure that clients’ needs are met as projects evolve
  • Analyze risks and opportunities
  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
  • Work with the Project Manager to eliminate blockers
  • Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures
  • Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests

 Minimum requirements:

 Education:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at an accredited University.

 Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills. 
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficient level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.

 Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Competencies, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
  • Must be able to work with a team, attention to details, and follow work rules.
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with deadlines.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.

  • Must be able to climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways
  • Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb vertical access ladders and stairwells, carry up to 50 pounds and to see, hear, walk and talk effectively.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

 Working Conditions:

  • Essentially indoors but must be able to work outdoors in project & maintenance activities.
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including a credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

 Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None.
