Responsibilities:

Independently devise and engineer novel viral entities or vectors, complete with in vitro characterization and rescue processes.

Lead and implement scientific research projects with minimal supervision.

Gather, scrutinize, and relay research data to both the research community and management, providing strategic recommendations for next phases.

Employ diverse engineering technologies for the creation of modified eukaryotic cell lines.

Utilize a range of molecular cloning techniques to assemble vectors for viral production and cellular alterations.

Formulate, refine, and conduct molecular and cellular assays to profile viruses and viral vectors.

Showcase self-driven initiative and commitment to both independent and collaborative team-based research.

Align and drive research activities, contributing essential scientific and technical insights to the strategic expansion of cross-disciplinary projects.

Qualifications/Skills:

Doctorate or master's degree in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Virology, or a similar discipline.

Demonstrated proficiency in molecular cloning techniques.

Experience with the engineering of lentiviral vectors, or the capacity to rapidly acquire expertise in this area.

Proven track record in optimizing experimental protocols to enhance efficiency or yield.

Exemplary organizational and time management capabilities.

Autonomous working style, with the ability to also thrive within a collaborative environment.

Valued Complementary Skills:

Proficiency in eukaryotic cell culture techniques, including flow cytometry, cell proliferation, viability assessments, and cell cloning.

Advanced molecular biology techniques, including quantitative PCR (qPCR), reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR), droplet digital PCR (ddPCR), and western blot analysis.

Expertise in virology, with skills in viral analytics (plaque assay, TCID50, indirect fluorescence assay), virus cultivation and propagation, as well as the design, rescue, and characterization of negative-sense single-stranded RNA viruses.
