SUMMARY:
An equipment operator is tasked with the safe and efficient operations of heavy machinery, such as, but not limited to, loaders, dump trucks, backhoes, and graders. The equipment operator ensures that the machinery he or she is about to use is in good working order, and then follows all relevant procedures and protocols while using it. The operator may be asked to provide input into the way some equipment is used on a site and is required to report any noticed anomalies in operation to the acting supervisor. The operator also typically assists with any loading or unloading of the equipment.
The operator must carefully follow the directives of acting site supervisors, and the operation of the equipment is usually far more precise and intricate than may be readily apparent. Equipment operators must always stay in control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean, lubricate, maintain, and/or repair equipment.
- Set up, operate, and service equipment.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Maintain a clean and presentable jobsite.
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Store and transport all equipment safely and securely.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 0 – 2 years experience.
- Motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with Company and insurance carrier standards and policies.
- Able to travel to jobsites during all phases of a project and able to travel to jobsites which may be remote.
- Must be able to work as a team.
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License.
- Motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with Company and insurance carrier standards and policies.
- Must able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Must able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and climb ladders for extended periods of time.
- Must have strong work ethic, be a self starter, a problem solver, and a team player.
- Must be able to wear any required PPE.
- Ability to obtain HAZWOPER 40 and other necessary certifications as required.
- Review and adhere to federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Adhere to QA/QC procedures.
- Ability to professionally communicate with clients on jobsites.
- Able to perform heavy lifting; minimum 50 pounds.

WORK CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work outside year round in all types of weather conditions.

Depending on an individual’s job duties, the Company may require an individual to complete a medical examination.
