The Opportunity
Talon Metals is exploring our land packages in Minnesota and Michigan. Our team’s focus is to discover and develop high-grade nickel deposits in the United States for use in batteries. This is an opportunity to work as a member of a drilling team with the same crew and diamond core drill rig year-round. Travel may be required.

What The Role Entails
Reporting to the Drill Foreman duties include, but are not limited to:
Working safely following company policies and HSE regulations and procedures.
Actively leading the drill shift to ensure safe working habits are in place and safety procedures are followed.
Leading all aspects of drill operations for one diamond core rig with safe, cost effective and professional actions including setting casing, mixing drill muds, and advancing the hole to depths up to 5,000 feet.
Handling drill rods and core tubes skillfully and efficiently.
Ensures that gas monitors are bump tested at the start of each shift and are utilized while drilling.
Supervise rig-specific hazard recognition training for site visitors.
Ensure the drill site and the work area are clean and free of debris at all times.
Ensure that Safety Data Sheets for chemicals used are available on the rig.
Confirm that all products utilized down-hole are NSF approved.
Have a basic mechanical ability to identify and solve problems with drill site equipment.
To Succeed In This Role, You Will
Be a positive leader in a small team
2 years of surface diamond drilling experience
Be able to lift 50lbs or more
Have a Valid Driver's License
Have or can obtain standard 1st Aid AED, CPR Level C
Be willing and able to make repairs to the drill and support equipment when needed.
