Job Description

Position : Project Manager
Location : Chicago IL – Remote
Direct Client Requirement

Responsible for leading the successful delivery of medium to large sized projects of moderate-to-high complexity to deliver intended business outcomes. Manage project reporting and provides transparency of project status for schedule, budget, risks, issues, and oversight of project change control and escalation. Use standard EPMO project management processes, methodologies, and documentation practices to ensure projects meet project objectives.
Experience Level: Minimum of 10 years

Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Demonstrated experience leading projects and teams to execute highly complex initiatives of significant scope, scale, and risk to successfully deliver project objectives and benefits.
• Consistent results driven project leadership skills.
• Solid working knowledge and subject matter expertise in project management methodologies including waterfall, Agile, Scaled Agile (SAFe) and hybrid.
• IT background or experience in managing technology projects and familiarity with cloud concepts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate effective meetings, clearly convey information, influence when necessary, share and draw knowledge and ideas from others, and communicate well across all levels of the organization (i.e., appropriately messaging for the intended audience).
• Critical thinking and analytical skills to analyze problems, develop solutions, and manage risks.
• Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
• Solid business sense and skills to quickly assess a situation and respond appropriately to optimize the outcome.
• Ability to manage conflict by reading situations quickly, identifying potential solutions and gaining cooperation with minimal disruption.
• Self-starter with an ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage ambiguity.
• Adept at navigating a matrixed environment.
• Competence in building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of judgement with an emphasis on problem solving.
• Passion for impeccable quality and customer success.
• Solid working knowledge of project management tools and technologies including MS Office Suite including MS Project, MS Project Server, SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, Jira & Jira Align.

Preferred Qualifications:
• PMP Certification
• Agile Certification (i.e., CSM/SSM, SA, ACP, SPC)
• Experience working in healthcare and/or regulated industries.
• Experience in a Program Management Office (PMO, EPMO, APMO or VMO).

Responsibilities:
• Lead cross-functional project teams to successfully deliver project objectives and benefits.
• Provide project management leadership through project governance, roles and responsibilities, effective planning, and project execution excellence.
• Lead EPMO planning process including defining milestones and success criteria.
• Create/maintain EPMO artifacts.
• Facilitate/support readiness for ART/Agile team events such as sprint planning, sprint reviews, daily standups, iteration reviews, etc.
• Identify and manage areas of risk and dependencies including contingency planning.
• Provide timely and transparent communications on status, risks, and issues.
• Support teams in remaining focused and resolving distractions and conflicts.
• Manage the coordination of work in other "shared service” type areas – i.e., Procurement, Legal, InfoSec, Performance Engineering, etc.
